An Interactive Cloud-based LMS with Gamification Elements

As Light IT Global was responsible both for back-end and front-end development, we’ve offered our client the combination of Django and React. Django is known for its security and efficiency while also having a huge ecosystem with examples of ready-made solutions. React was chosen as the framework for developing the client part of the application as it includes many functions out of the box and numerous different libraries. Consequently, we’ve managed to achieve good code quality and reduce the time required for the development of a cloud-based LMS. As cloud-based learning management systems need to offer the users different roles with different access rights, all navigation occurs only on private routes to control access and ensure maximum security. Communication with the third parties' APIs, data storage, and other components is provided by the adapters on the infrastructural layer. This layer improves the isolation of components and their stability by decreasing the number of external services they will communicate with. Per client’s request, we’ve incorporated three types of users into the system:

Each type of user has different rights and responsibilities. The employees get access to the learning materials and complete assigned modules, quizzes, and tasks. Managers can track the employees’ progress via the specialized dashboard, schedule activities, and manage the employees. The admins are able to manage all types of users and all types of content, schedule activities, track licenses, and more. To ensure maximum user engagement, Light IT Global has introduced gamification and developed an achievement system that keeps the employees motivated and simplifies the monitoring process for the managers.
